Summary:
This document is an engineering report describing a non-isolated, buck-boost LED driver (power supply) designed using the LYTSwitch family of devices, the LYT4313E.
The DER-357 provides a constant current output of a single 12 W thyristor dimming.
The main design goal is to achieve high efficiency to improve luminous efficiency and reduce size. This allows the drive to be loaded into the BR40 lamp as close as possible to the production design.
The board is optimized for operation over a low AC input voltage range (90 VAC to 132 VAC, 47 Hz to 63 Hz). The LYTSwitch IC-based design provides a high power factor (0>0.95), which helps meet the requirements of all current international standards.
The board is designed to fit into a standard BR40 LED replacement lamp. The output is non-isolated and requires a mechanical design of the housing to isolate the power output and LED load from the user.
This document includes power specifications, circuit diagrams, bill of materials, transformer specifications, printed circuit board layout, design spreadsheets, and performance data.
